Ice Arena

Overview

The City of Bowie Ice Arena is a year round ice skating facility. When it first opened in 1971 it was only a seasonal facility, but today the Ice Arena is open for skating July through April each year. The 2017-18 skating season marks the start of the 47th season of skating at the City of Bowie Ice Arena.

It offers ice skating for all ages and levels. Discounts are available for City of Bowie residents as well as groups and families.

The Bowie Ice Arena is home to the Bowie Figure Skating Club, Bowie Hockey Club, Bowie High School Ice Dogs and the Bowie ISI Figure Skating Team.

Monthly calendars are posted throughout the season.

Facility Opening Status: The Bowie Ice Arena was scheduled to open for the summer season on July 8th. Unfortunately, due to serious mechanical problems, the opening has been delayed until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience to our patrons who were looking forward to the reopening. We expect to provide an update on the progress of the repairs by July 14th.

Note: The facility closes for maintenance during the months of May and June, but is available for dry-floor activities. On the first Saturday in June the Bowie Chamber of Commerce holds its annual Home Show in conjunction with the City’s Bowiefest celebration.

The City of Bowie Ice Arena is celebrating 45 years of skating fun! The facility opened in 1971 and has gone through many changes over the years. We are very proud to be able to serve our community for so many years. Check out the slide show below.
