Council Districts

Overview

The City of Bowie is divided into four districts and a Councilmember is elected by the voters of that district to represent them on the City Council. Each district is broken into two sub districts (A and B) for voting. Each sub district has its own polling place on Election Day.

The voting districts were reviewed at several meetings in early 2012 after the results of the 2010 Census were released. On March 19, 2012, the City Council voted to move the Longridge neighborhood from District 3 to District 2. On February 19, 2013, the City Council voted to rebalance the polling sub districts in District 1, 2 and 4. District 3 did not require any changes.
