The City of Bowie sponsors (or co-sponsors) the following programs for helping those in need this holiday season:

Toys for Tots

The Bowie Police Department invites you to participate in their Toys for Tots Program by donating a new, unwrapped toy for a local child. In November, drop off boxes will be placed at City Hall, the Bowie Police Department, the City Gym, the Ice Arena, the Senior Center, and the Kenhill Center. The deadline for donations is December 16, 2016. For information, please contact Cpl. Raford Moten at 240-544-5774 or email rmoten@cityofbowie.org.

Shop with a Cop – December 11th

In December, members of the Bowie Police Department will shop with local children at the Bowie Target and help them to buy holiday presents for their families. Target co-sponsors this event, but monetary donations from the public are also welcome. They may be mailed or dropped off at the Bowie Police Department, 15901 Excalibur Road, Bowie, MD 20716. For more information, contact Cpl. Raford Moten at 240-544-5774  or email rmoten@cityofbowie.org.

Bowie Pantry and Emergency Aid Fund

Each year the Pantry puts together  Christmas food baskets for local families that regularly visit the Pantry throughout the year. They also create a “toy/gift room” for parents to select gifts for their children. If you are interested in donating holiday food baskets or adopting families and/or children for the holidays, please contact the Pantry at 301-262-6765 or email bowiefoodpantry@gmail.com.

Also, please donate nonperishable food items at the Bowie Pantry (behind the Kenhill Center at 2614 Kenhill Drive) or at any of the other drop off locations. Monetary donations are also most welcome.
