Animal Shelter Task Force

Mission of the Task Force

The mission of the Task Force is to investigate the need for and feasibility of establishing and operating a small, short term holding shelter for cats and dogs captured by the Bowie Animal Control Division such as proposed by Bowie CLAW. This will be achieved by:

a. Analyzing the need for such a facility in Bowie and identify an array of options to bring pets and owners back together.

b. Performing a cost/benefit analysis of options for that facility if the need IS established.

c. Assessing whether and how such a facility might complement the efforts of the County facility.

d. If need is so established, determining a plan and schedule for the construction and operation of a small, short term shelter in Bowie.
