Artists wishing to be considered for future exhibitions of artwork should review the Guidlines and Requirements for Artists document which provides information on how to proceed.
East Gallery, 1st Floor
The 1st floor East Gallery is the only Art Gallery space on the first floor of the Excalibur building. The gallery space is left of the main lobby in the corridor leading to the Finance window. There is one wall, 24 foot wide, with six track lights planned and an additional short wall, probably 6 feet wide. The gallery will primarily be used for exhibits by young artists from the Bowie community. The gallery pieces will be 18” by 24” and contain 12 pieces of artwork.
East Gallery, 2nd floor
The 2nd floor East Gallery is located on two walls outside the City Manager’s conference room (Room 201). One wall is 20 foot wide, the second, 18 foot. Each contains 5 track lights. Gallery pieces accepted will be 18” by 24” or 30” by 40.” If two pieces are hung together on one rod and no more than a total of four double rods are included, these pieces may be 16” by 20” inches. This gallery will hold approximately 10 pieces of artwork.
Gallery Nook
Room 228, located just outside the Dept. of Planning, will be a gallery space. There are three track lights on the center wall. Ideal gallery would include one horizontal piece that is 24” by 36” and hung with between two 16” by 20” vertical pieces of artwork. The gallery will also contain a large display case that will showcase three- dimensional artworks, such as small sculpture.
West Gallery, 2nd floor
The 2nd floor West Gallery is located to the right of the Department of Information Technology (Suite 250). One wall is approximately 20 feet and the other, 24 feet wide.
Gallery pieces accepted will be 18” by 24” or 30” by 40.” If two pieces are hung together on one rod and no more than a total of four double rods are included, these pieces may be 16” by 20” inches. This gallery will hold approximately 10 pieces of artwork.
