Education Committee

The City Education Committee was established in 1976 by the Bowie City Council. It was originally called the Educational System Study Committee. The Committee evolved over the years until 1996 when it was combined with the City's Excellence in Education Scholarship Committee. Today the City has a single committee that is charged with advising the Council on matters relating to education.

The Education Committee also sponsors a number of programs and projects throughout the year. For each program sponsored by the Education Committee, please note the eligibility requirements. Some of the programs are limited to the schools listed below.
