Summit Singers

Unfortunately, due to insufficient registration, the Spring 2012 Summit Singers program was cancelled. Please watch the City website and local media for information about the Fall 2012 Summit Singers program.

Many studies have shown that young people who participate in musical activities such as choral and band/orchestra groups excel in school. The City of Bowie, recognizing the importance of active participation in the Arts, has partnered with Eleanor Minor, retired music teacher extraordinaire from Bowie High School, to offer choral opportunities to high school students through the Summit Singers

Who: Students in grades 9-12

What: An audition-based chorus/show choir. Students will need to prepare a song of their choice for performance and must supply an accompaniment CD – no acappella singing. Students must also be prepared to vocalize up and down the scale. We are looking for mature, focused students who have a passion for singing and performance!

When: Rehearsals Thursdays 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Registration: Begins the week of January 16, 2012.

Registration fee: $50.00 resident ($55 non-resident)

Uniform/Costume Fee: $35
