Dates to Remember for Candidates

The following information is provided regarding the November 2009 Election:

Friday, October 2, 2009
Last day to register to vote at City Hall or the County Board of Elections, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in order to vote in the November 3, 2009 City Election; and last day for Mail Registration Forms to be returned to City Hall and the County Board of Elections in order to be eligible to vote on November 3, 2009.

Friday, October 2, 2009
Last day to file for office of Mayor, Council Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4 and for the two At-Large seats at City Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday, October 13, 2009
Last day for a candidate to withdraw from office.

Fifteenth of Each Month
Report Re: Contributions and Expenditures is due, and must be filed no later than noon on this date. (See Sec. 6-75 of the City Code for details).

Monday, November 2, 2009
Last day to present applications for absentee ballots for any qualified voter, who may be unavoidably absent from the City or who is otherwise prevented from being present and personally voting at the polls on the date of the Election, and must be received no later than 5 p.m. at City Hall in the City Clerk's office.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009
Election Day.

Monday, November 16, 2009
Last day to present Final Treasurer's Report Re: Contributions and Expenditures for Successful Candidates. Reports must be in the City Clerk's office by noon. 

Monday, November 16, 2009
Candidates who are elected to office will be sworn into office at the Organizational Meeting at City Hall at 8:00 p.m.

Voter Registration resumes.

Wednesday, December 3, 2009
Last day to present Final Treasurer's Report Re: Contributions and Expenditures for Unsuccessful Candidates.
