Absentee Ballot Deadlines

General Election
The deadline to request an absentee ballot for the General Election is as follows:

If the application is mailed, 4:30 p.m. on October 28, 2008; or
If the application is faxed, 11:59 p.m. on October 28, 2008.

After the deadline, a Late Application for Absentee Ballot must be completed in person at the Board of Elections by November 4, 2008 @ 8:00 p.m.

City Elections

The next regular City Council election will take place on November 3, 2009. The office of mayor and six council members will be open for election. Residents who are registered voters can file for elected office in the Office of the City Clerk. Please call the City Clerk at 301-809-3029 in advance to verify filing eligibility requirements and to arrange a filing date and time.

Candidates for elected office must fill out a Certificate of Nomination and submit a payment of $25. Appointment of a treasurer must be done at the time of filing for office.
