MANY CAREERS IN LAW ENFORCEMENT...
...have begun with participation in the Police Explorers program.

Police Explorers are youth ranging in age from 14 years to 20 years of age. Our Explorers participate in activities which allow them to have hands-on experience with police officers in their roles with in the community.

Explorers are required to attend one monthly meeting and other details as they arise. The meetings will cover topics and training that will assist them in pursuing a career in Law Enforcement.  The training received includes but is not limited to Traffic Control, Report Writing, Fingerprinting, Crime Scene Investigation, Basic Patrol Procedures, Defensive Tactics and many other Law Enforcement related topics.

Also, included in their training is a chance to earn merit awards, try out for various competitions and to enter an annual National Law Enforcement Exploring Conference.

Community service is a main function of the Post. Our Explorers participate in various special events within the community. The Post Color Guard will also have the honor of presenting the colors at several community events.

The City of Bowie Explorer Post is looking for males and females who want to be part of our organization.
