Special Pickups

Special Metal and Tire Pickup

Pickups are done on Wednesdays and must be scheduled. To schedule a pickup, call the Public Works Department by Tuesday at noon for that week's pickup. Call 301-809-2344.

Items that are 98% metal require a special pickup.

Metal items include the following:

  • Washing machines
  • Dryers
  • Refrigerators and freezers (make sure door is removed or securely tied closed)
  • Grills
  • Water heaters
  • Metal cabinets or shelves

Tires also require a special pickup.

Residents may have up to four automobile tires collected each year. No commercial tires will be collected.
