There are a number of ways to help meet the dire needs of the Haitian people following the devastating effects of the January 12, 2010 earthquake.

Charitable Organizations

There are many worthy organizations working to help in Haiti.  The United States Department of State is directing donors to charitynavigator.com to select a reputable charity.

The site provides links to several organizations.  It rates the organizations on a variety of factors, including the percentage of their donations that go to administrative costs. It also summarizes the kind of assistance the organizations will provide in Haiti.
