Bowie Senior Center
The Senior Citizen Program is a comprehensive, multifaceted service and referral program available to adults 55 years of age and older. A state-of-the-art Senior Center is located at 14900 Health Center Drive and offers opportunities for social, educational, and physical activities, as well as local and out-of-town trips. Services include providing referrals to senior citizens, families, and caregivers of senior citizens and providing transportation for adults 55 and older and individuals with disabilities within the city limits of Bowie. In addition, the Food and Friendship Program provides both congregate and home delivered lunches to the senior citizen population. We also serve as a referral center for programs and activities provided by other county, state, and private agencies and groups.
Bowie Senior Center Activities
On June 19, 2000 the newly constructed Bowie Senior Center opened for business. This 29,000 square foot facility offers residents, ages 55 and older, a variety of recreational and educational opportunities. The Center incorporates the best features of several senior centers around the State into one new and inviting building. Seniors must register at the Center to participate in Center programs.
