City Hall Conference Room Galleries
The Arts Committee organizes galleries in two of the city’s busy conference rooms, Rooms 111 and 204. The gallery rotates on a six month basis, changing every December and June. The artists who exhibit in the galleries are local artists and photographers who reside in Bowie.
The current exhibit includes photos of Irish doors and windows by photographer Pam Fleming and a panoramic of the Jefferson Memorial at sunrise by photographer Fran Stetina.
The art ranges from abstracts like “Fire Down Below” by Doris Kessler and “Unfinished Heart Business by Barbara Lorei to “Smiling’Susans” by Jean Magram and “Mallard Ducks” by Betty Penland.
All in all, over 40 artworks liven the walls of these two conference rooms.
The galleries are open during City Hall’s business hours and can be viewed unless the conference room is in use.
For more information on the galleries or to find out how to exhibit, contact the city’s Art Specialist Annette Esterheld at 301-575-5601 or email.
