DOG PARK RULES
1. Owners are legally responsible for the activities of their dog(s) and are prohibited from leaving their dogs unattended. Dogs showing aggression toward people or dogs must be immediately removed from the park. Other inappropriate behavior (ie., digging , excessive barking) should be humanely curbed.
2. Owners must clean up after their dogs.
3. A basic flat buckle collar or harness is required within the park (no pinch or choke chains). Dogs must be leashed when entering or exiting the park, and owners must carry a leash at all times.
4. No more than two dogs per owner are allowed in the park at the same time. Dogs in heat or younger than 4 months are not allowed in the dog park. Dogs must wear up-to-date rabies vaccination tags and license tags.
5. No smoking or food or dog treats allowed in the dog park.
6. Children must be properly supervised. Children under 12 years are strongly discouraged from using the dog park.
7. Users may use the smaller fenced-in area for small dogs, shy dogs, and puppies older than 4 months.
8. Dogs are to be treated humanely in accordance with the City of Bowie Animal Control Ordinance.
9. Professional dog trainers may not use this facility to conduct their business.
Please note: All dogs entering the dog park that reside within the City of Bowie are required to wear a current rabies tag and Prince George’s County pet license while in the park.
If you are just visiting the City of Bowie and wish to use the dog park your dog must have a current rabies tag and should have a pet license from whatever city or town you are from. Aside from that there is no fee to enter the park. Hours for the dog park are Monday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to dusk.
