Bowie Reads at Bowiefest

The City of Bowie’s Education Committee will again be offering free books at their reading promotion booth at Bowiefest, on June 5th, at Allen Pond Park(rain date, June 6th). New and “gently used” books have been collected for several months. Children may stop by the Bowie Reads booth and select a book or two to take home to read, free of charge! Parents (or grandparents) will be asked to assist their children in selecting books that are appropriate for their children.

Information about literacy, reading to children and helping children learn to read will be available for parents, grandparents and others who spend time with children!

Thank you to our wonderful supporters in the community, who have donated books so that many children will be able to have their own, new books to read!!
