Subject: Bowie Reads at Bowiefest
The Bowie Education Committee is Collecting “Gently Used” Books for their Reading Promotion Booth at Bowiefest

The City of Bowie’s Education Committee will again be offering free books at their reading promotion booth at Bowiefest, on June 5th, at Allen Pond Park. New and/or “gently used” books are being collected, so that children may stop by the Bowie Reads booth, and select a book or two to take home to read. We are looking for books that are appropriate for children from birth through high school ages.

If you are cleaning out bookshelves because you have books that aren’t being read, as your children and/or grandchildren may have outgrown them, and would like to share them with other children, please consider donating them to be given out, free of charge, to local children.

Books may be dropped off at Bowie City Hall, to the Department of Community Services, room #203, between 8:30 AM and 5 PM on weekdays. On Monday through Thursday evenings, after 5 pm, or between 8:30 and noon on Saturdays they may be left at the front reception desk.

For more information, please contact the Education Committee at lstern@cityofbowie.org or 301-809-3068.

Thank you for your book donations!
