City of Bowie 2010 Scholarship Winners

The City of Bowie offers scholarships in Arts and Education for graduating high school students who are Bowie residents. This year seven scholarship recipients will be honored at the Excellence in Education Reception on May 5th. Congratulations to 2010 scholarship winners, listed below.

Two Arts Scholarships of $500 each were awarded to:
Cynthia Hernandez, of Elizabeth Seton High School, will be going on to State University of New York at Purchase.and majoring in graphic design.

Angeleaza Anderson, of Archbishop Spalding High School, will attend Christopher Newport University and  major in music theatre and dance.

In the 20th year of Excellence in Education Scholarships, five $1000 scholarships have been awarded to:

Eric Hamel, of DeMatha High School, plans to attend the University of Maryland – College Park, where he has been selected to participate in their prestigious Scholars’ Program. He will major in Public Leadership.

Shannon James is graduating from Elizabeth Seton High School.  She hasn’t made a final decision on a college yet, but would like to major in English and then go onto law school.

Stephanie Lopez is graduating from Bowie High School.  She hasn’t made a final decision on a college yet. She would like to major in International Studies and her ultimate goal is to obtain a position in the Foreign Service.

Gabriella Sincovic, is also from Bowie High School.  She plans to attend North Carolina State in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Gabriella would like to major in Professional Golf Management. 

Chloe Washington, is graduating from Suitland High School.  She plans to attend Ithaca College
in Upstate, New York.  Chloe would like to major in music.
