City of Bowie Hall of Honor Nominations

Bowie, MDJanuary 5, 2010 – The City of Bowie is now accepting nominations for the Hall of Honor 2010.    

The Hall of Honor is the City of Bowie’s way of honoring those persons who have made major and lasting contributions to the City.  This contribution can be in any form or area of endeavor. A few of the Hall of Honor’s past inductees include Robert V. Setera, “The Spirit Behind Bowiefest,” Malcom C. “Skip“ Popp, Jr., who sacrificed his life while rescuing a boy scout from drowning, and Patrick J. Murtagh, the “Father of Bowie Soccer.” 

Nominees to the Hall of Honor must be deceased for at least one year as of the nomination deadline. The nominee must have made both a major and lasting contribution directly to the City of Bowie.  Contributions made to Prince George’s County as a whole, and/or the State of Maryland do not qualify.  Nominees must also have been a resident of the City of Bowie either during the time of their contribution or at the time of their death.
Nomination forms are available at Bowie City Hall in Room #203 or at www.cityofbowie.org.

All nominations must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010.
