Thanks to Teach of the Month Partners

The Teacher of the Month program recognizes Bowie teachers for their teaching excellence, as well as for the “little things” which mean a lot to students, parents, and their peers. The program provides an opportunity for parents, students, educators and community members to seek a special “Thank You” for a teacher, for providing special opportunities for students, creativity in planning lessons that are hands-on, effective, meet the needs of students, exceptional ways of helping students be successful in the educational process, and/or working with parents, and/or other educators. This program has been supported by community partnerships with local businesses that help it to continue to be a very meaningful recognition!

The Bowie Education Committee, sponsor of this program for the City of Bowie, extends a huge THANK YOU to the program’s very special partners:

  • BB & T Bank provides the funds to cover the cost of the $100 U. S. Savings Bonds that are purchased for each teacher honored!

  • Main Street Catering, creates beautiful and delicious lunches for the teacher selected and their principal, so that they may enjoy a special lunch together at their school!

Our program partners’ generosity and meaningful participation with this program really makes a difference in honoring teachers for their dedication to their students above and beyond what is expected of a teacher. These program partners are making a difference in the community!

Information about the Teacher of the Month program is available on the City of Bowie web site, www.cityofbowie.org (“Search” for Teacher of the Month), at eligible schools*or at the Department of Community Services at Bowie City Hall.
