Two new art exhibits are at Bowie City Hall for the month of February. The City Hall Gallery’s exhibit is the beautiful quilts of the Southern Comforters Quilt group and student work from Bowie High School fills the Young Person’s Art Gallery.
The quilt group offers the opportunity for its members to quilt, to enter show quilts, to make quilts for charity and the group serves as a social gathering for its approximately 100 members.
Many of the young artists featured in the Young Person’s Art Gallery are seniors at Bowie High, have taken classes in art throughout high school, and plan to major in visual arts in college.
The Art Galleries are open to the public at City Hall, 2614 Kenhill Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.on Saturdays.
