HOLIDAY HOUSE DECORATING CONTEST

November 2, 2011 – Bowie, MD – The City of Bowie’s Annual Holiday House Decorating Contest is approaching!  Brighten up for the holidays by entering your house, or a friend, or neighbor’s home. Prizes include  two $100 Family Award Winners, ten Best of Bowie Awards, and ten Spirit Awards.  The Best of Bowie recipients will receive a White House ornament and the Spirit Award winners will be given a Belair Mansion ornament.

The contest is free to enter and open to any resident within city limits who submits an entry form by the deadline.  Entry forms are available on the City’s website at www.cityofbowie.org (click on Leisure Activities and then click on Special Events) and they may also be picked up at City Hall.

On the entry form, residents must select the appropriate category: Colonial, Religious or Traditional. Entry forms must be returned to City Hall by Monday, December 12, 2011 at 5:00 PM.  Lights and decorations should be visible when judging takes place on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 6:00 to 11:00 PM.  Those adults who are interested in being a judge are encouraged to contact City Hall.

All contest entrants are invited to a Holiday Awards Reception at City Hall on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 7:00 PM.
