The City of Bowie invites present and former Bowie residents to a morning of oral history at the Bowie Senior Center on Wednesday, August 24, 2011.
Museum Director Pamela Williams asks, "Did you grow up in Huntington City? Play sandlot ball there, or watch movies at the Oddfellows Hall? Were you among the first settlers who made the trek to Belair at Bowie via the two narrow lanes of Rte. 197? Do you remember the Turtle, the "Pink Paper," new clothes from The Colony Shop and Peebles? "
She encourages people of all ages to share these memories with City staff us as we continue to gather our "modern history!" "Please join us at the Senior Center on August 24, at 10 a.m. for a memory collecting morning. It's time to start saving our memories - from all over Bowie."
Refreshments served - recollections wanted!
