Off to Defeat the British! A Public Notice To Citizens
On Saturday, August 27, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.. the Belair Mansion will host its annual 18th century reenactment of Count Rochambeau’s 1781 March to Yorktown, through Bowie, to assist in defeat of the British.
Both American and British forces will be represented. There is no cause for alarm, given the presence of enemy troops at the Mansion – they will be contained by Colonial Patriots! Citizens may be guaranteed that the Colonials will win the end-of-day skirmish!
Citizens are invited to visit the Mansion to discuss the War for Independence, 18th century military life, weaponry – or to join the ladies’ sewing circle in the Mansion parlor.
The event is free; no reservations required. Belair Mansion is located at 12207 Tulip Grove Drive in Bowie
