SUBJECT: Ordinance O-7-07 – Supplemental Appropriations for the Annual Budget
for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2008

DATE: July 9, 2007

Ordinance O-7-07 provides supplemental appropriations for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008 for the purpose of funding the replacement of Senior Center Bus #71 (1998 Chevrolet Goshen). The bus is inoperable and staff recommends the replacement of the vehicle rather than attempting to repair. The estimated cost to repair is over $6,800. The bus has a history of repairs and parts have become increasingly difficult to obtain.

A replacement bus has been identified on a United States Government General Services Administration contract in the amount of $58,700. The bus was originally scheduled for replacement in FY2009. Funding for the replacement bus will come from the Equipment Acquisition and Replacement Fund, which has reserved $50,600 to date for the replacement of the bus, with another contribution of $6,500 scheduled for FY2008. An additional transfer from the General Fund of $1,600 is required to replace the vehicle.

Council’s approval of Ordinance O-7-07 providing supplemental appropriations for the annual budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008 is requested.
