R E S O L U T I O N
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOWIE, MARYLAND
AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THIRD PARTY INSPECTION SERVICES REQUIRED IN CONNECTION
WITH THE BOWIE PLAYHOUSE RENOVATIONS TO INDEPENDENT CONSULTANTS & ENGINEERS,
INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Bowie owns the Bowie Playhouse located at 16500 White Marsh Park Drive, Bowie, Maryland in Whitemarsh Park; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to renovate the Bowie Playhouse, and in order to obtain permits for the renovations, the City must, pursuant to the Prince George’s County Code, hire a third party inspector to provide inspection services in connection with the project; and
WHEREAS, the City issued a Request for Proposals for the required Third Party Inspection Services, which was advertised and sent to twenty-two known vendors; and
WHEREAS, the closing date for proposals was March 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at which time the two bids which had been received were opened and read; and
WHEREAS, the proposal received by the City from Independent Consultants & Engineers, Inc. was determined to be the lowest most responsible and responsive proposal for the required work; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that Independent Consultants & Engineers, Inc. is fully capable of completing the work needed to comply with the Prince George’s County requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council for the City of Bowie, Maryland that the contract for Third Party Inspection Services for the Lobby Addition and Renovations of the Bowie Playhouse in the amount of $10,434 is hereby awarded to Independent Consultants & Engineers, Inc., and the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into such an Agreement with Independent Consultants & Engineers, Inc. on behalf of the City.
