SUBJECT: Annual Supply of Chemicals - R-54-08
DATE: July 29, 2008
Legal notices were placed and bid packages were sent to selected firms for the annual supply of chemicals for the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The estimated quantities specified in the contract documents would be used through June 30, 2009. The City will have an option to renew each chemical contract for an additional one (1) year period. Pricing for the renewal was provided which represents the projected cost increase for that renewal.
Bid packages were mailed to five (5) suppliers, but only one, Univar USA, Inc. of Middletown, Pennsylvania submitted a proposal. Below are Univar’s unit prices:

The Public Works Department recommends that the bid of Univar USA, Inc. to
supply chemicals to the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, which meet minimum
bid specifications and are within budget, be accepted.
I concur with the above recommendation and request your approval of R-54-08.
