SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOWIE CITY COUNCIL
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2009

CALL MEETING TO ORDER

            The Special Meeting of the Bowie City Council was held on Monday, February 9, 2009 in the Council Chambers at City Hall.  Mayor Robinson called the meeting to order at 10:43 p.m. 

QUORUM

            In attendance were Mayor Robinson, Councilmembers Brady, Marcos, Polangin, Trouth, Turner and Valentino-Smith; City Manager Deutsch, Assistant City Manager Fitzwater, Finance Director Patrick, Asst. Finance Director Matthews, the Press, and the Public. 

PRESENTATIONS:

            Mayor Robinson presented the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award to Mr. Robert Patrick, Finance Director.  On behalf of the City Council, Mayor Robinson thanked Mr. Patrick and his staff for their excellent work.

CONSENT AGENDA:

            A.  Resolution R-9-09 - Authorizing the Waiving of Bidding Requirements to Authorize the City Manager to Execute an Agreement for Electric Demand Response Services Through a Commonwealth of Virginia Contract - Mayor Pro Tem Turner moved approval of R-9-09.  Councilmember Brady seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

ADJOURNMENT

            Mayor Pro Tem Turner moved to adjourn the special meeting.  The motion was seconded by Councilmember Brady and carried unanimously.   The meeting adjourned at 10:45 p.m.
