Status Report

1.  M-NCPPC Property in the City

As recently requested by City Council, attached is a listing of all Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission property in the City of Bowie.  Included on this map is a list of all park property owned by the City as well. 

2.  BGE Tree Cutting and Trimming Along County and State Right of Ways

Councilmember Valentino-Smith has requested that staff explore use of the Right Tree Right Place Program along County and State Right of Ways.  Attached is a memo that addresses this issue for Council consideration.  BGE had put on hold the proposed trimming and cutting along the Route 197 right of way adjacent to Long Ridge until after this matter could be investigated.  BGE has requested the opportunity to implement this cutting beginning either the week of August 17th or August 24th.  If there is no objection from City Council, staff will communicate to BGE that it is okay to implement the cutting along Route 197 adjacent to Long Ridge.  A letter had been sent previously to all residents living in Long Ridge.   

3.  Community Use of Days Allocated to City at BCPA

With regard to a recent application for use of City allocated days which was not approved, we have attached for your reference documents relevant to the decision making process for use of those days at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts.
