Status Report
1. Monday’s Worksession with Park and Planning Staff
M-NCPPC will be providing a PowerPoint presentation on Monday night regarding their recreation programs. We were not provided with any written material for your review.
2. Police In-Car Video System Upgrade
The Police Department is obtaining a vendor for the purchase and installation of upgrades to the ICOP In-Car video systems currently installed in patrol vehicles. The upgrades include wireless uploading of video to the secure server which eliminates the need for Supervisors to manually pull hard drives from the cruisers and ensures that officers do not run out of recording space during their shift. Also included are Collision Sensor Kits which begin recording pre-incident video after registering the impact of a police vehicle during an accident. ICOP is the sole source vendor since we are upgrading an existing system. The total costs of the upgrades are $128,299.08. This is being paid through a grant received from the Department of Justice; $120,749.08 will be paid to ICOP and $7,550 will be paid to All Star Communications for installation of the units.
As provided by Section 62 of the City Charter, this will serve as the required seven (7) day notice of intent to issue a purchase order to ICOP and All Star Communications.
3. PG/MC 108-10
Enclosed please find a copy of proposed legislation that would create a Task Force to study the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission. The bill was drafted following Council’s discussion of legislative priorities. The bill will be heard by a Bi-County Subcommittee of the Prince George’s House Delegation at a meeting on December 10 at Prince George’s Community College.
