Status Report

1. Rain Garden Workshop

On Saturday, March 26 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., staff from the Department of Planning and Economic Development will host a rain garden workshop in the Bayscapes garden at City Hall. Residents will learn about how rain gardens can help beautify their yards and reduce polluted stormwater runoff from their lots. Guidance on do-it-yourself rain garden planting as well as specific native plants to use will also be provided. Finally, attendees will get an introduction to native/ conservation landscaping and rain barrels.

2. Woodmore Estates Paving

The contractor has been delayed slightly due to the rain this week. They are working today to relocate mailboxes, related to the shoulder widening which has been completed. The current schedule calls for paving to begin tomorrow (Friday) and to be completed by Tuesday morning. Then they will seed and mulch all disturbed areas by next Friday.

3. Election 2011

Councilmember Todd Turner filed this week for one of the At-Large Council seats.DJD/asf
