1.  Planning Board Results for Preliminary Plan #4-08056 (Colt's Neck)

Today, the Prince George's County Planning Board reviewed the Preliminary Subdivision Plan for Colt's Neck, a proposed Conservation Subdivision consisting of nine (9) lots on 53.16 acres of land, zoned O-S (Open Space) located on the south side of Race Track Road, approximately 100 feet south of its intersection with Jericho Park Road.  City Council reviewed the plan on July 7, 2008 and recommended approval with conditions.  After hearing from several speakers during the public hearing, the Planning Board voted to approve the Preliminary Plan, with conditions.  The Planning Board also accepted the staff recommendation to place the property in reservation for one year, to allow negotiations to continue with the M-NCPPC Parks Department, which is now interested in buying the property to protect its environmental, historic and recreational attributes.  The Board's approval included all of the City's conditions.  Testimony was offered in favor of the Conservation Subdivision development by Debbie Sell, John Gugliotti, Lee Tuveson and Attorney Macy Nelson (representing the Berwyn Rod and Gun Club), as well as City staff.  Board Member Clark moved for approval, acknowledging that the community collaboration on this plan was "ideal" and it is a model for Conservation Subdivision reviews.  Vice Chairman Vaughns seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (Squire absent).
