Status Report

1.  Bowie Incubator Update Briefing

Over 40 business people attended last Friday's incubator update briefing at City Hall.  They heard from James Harris, President of the Bowie Business Innovation Center Inc., and Dr. Anthony Nelson, Dean of the College of Business at Bowie State University.  Copies of the briefing slides are in your package.  Also, the BBIC has activated their website at http://www.bowiebic.com.

2.  Contract Tree Trimming

The adopted Fiscal Year 2011 Budget has allocated $50,000 toward contracted street tree trimming within the City right of way.  In fiscal years 2009 and 2010 the City piggybacked on an existing Prince George’s County contract with Lewis Tree Service, Inc. with satisfactory results. This contract has been renewed as Council of Governments Prince George’s County contract PO90684508065 under bid S08-065.  All terms and conditions of the previous contract remain in place.

As provided by Section 62 of the City Charter, this will serve as the required seven (7) day notice of intent to issue a purchase order to Lewis Tree Service, Inc. for a total amount of $50,000.
