Status Report

1.  LEED Scorecard on City Hall Project

Attached please find the current LEED scorecard on the City Hall Project.  The EAC has requested this information as well.  Currently the City is striving for 37 LEED points.  This would achieve the Silver LEED rating that the City is attempting to obtain.  The City has already received approval for 17 points under the design criteria submitted to the U.S. Green Buildings Council.  We will continue to provide City Council with periodic updates regarding our attempt to obtain LEED Silver status.

2.  Bike to Work Day

Friday, May 21st is Bike to Work Day in Bowie and the Washington, D.C. region. Again this year, the City will have two pit stops at which participants may take a break:  at the Food Court in the Bowie Town Center; and, at the Huntington Fire Station in Old Town Bowie.  Pit stop hours will be between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. at both locations.  Feel free to visit one or both pit stops for complimentary food and beverages, and to greet the riders.

3.  Annual Drinking Water Quality Report

The Annual Drinking Water Quality Report that will be mailed to all customers in the City’s water system within the next several weeks is attached.  As noted in the report, there are no issues associated with the quality of the drinking water in the City’s system.
