Ordinance O-01-07 provides supplemental appropriations for the fiscal year
ending June 30, 2007 for the purpose of funding the redemption of the Public
Improvement Refunding Bonds of 1994, street improvements in Old Town Bowie,
construction costs of the Parks Maintenance Facility, and updating the Green
Infrastructure Plan and Map.
Subsequent to the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2007 Budget, the City received a federal grant in the amount of $59,675 for updating the Green Infrastructure Plan and Map, a Community Legacy grant in the amount of $125,000 for the street improvement program in Old Town Bowie, and $150,000 from the State of Maryland for the Parks Maintenance Facility. The City also plans on drawing down $655,100 from State of Maryland Program Open Space funds for the Parks Maintenance Facility.
The General Fund’s fund balance will be used to redeem the Public Improvement Refunding Bonds of 1994 in the amount of $543,000 and the Transfer to the Capital Projects Fund for the construction costs associated with the Parks Maintenance Facility in the amount of $455,600.
The additional funds being appropriated by this ordinance for the Parks Maintenance Facility reflect Council’s passage of Resolution R-68-06 on August 1, 2006, which accepted the bid proposal for construction of the Parks Maintenance Facility.
Council’s approval of Ordinance O-01-07 providing supplemental appropriations for the annual budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007 is requested.
