Subject: Bond Reduction, Woodmore Estates Phase II
Storm Drain and Paving Permit SDP 3-0001

Woodmore Estates, LLC, the developer for Woodmore Estates, Phase II, has submitted a request to the Public Works Department for a performance bond reduction for permit SDP 3-0001 covering the storm drain and paving on the above referenced project.

The Public Works and Planning Directors have certified that a minimum of 80% of the work covered by the referenced permit has been completed in accordance with approved plans. All other conditions associated with performance bond reduction have been met in accordance with the City of Bowie Code Chapter 22, Section 22-30c.

However, there were neighborhood concerns expressed regarding certain items relating to this permit and Council held up approval of the bond reduction. To address neighborhood issues, a meeting was held on July 27th with Councilman Turner, homeowners, the developer, builder and city staff. Questions and concerns were satisfactorily addressed at that meeting and there was agreement that this bond reduction should be approved.

I concur with the above recommendations and request your approval of R-62-06.
