City Council has requested a follow-up on the BGE Meter Replacement Program in Bowie. Attached please find the presentation that will be made by Mr. Darryl Stokes, Vice President of Engineering & Standards for BGE regarding this matter.

Councilwoman Valentino-Smith has also requested the following information be communicated to City Council regarding the PSC complaint process. The PSC has communicated that if Bowie residents wish to file a complaint with the PSC regarding meter problems and higher BGE bills they can file a formal complaint against BGE through the PSC. Vincent Tyler will be the point of contact at the PSC. To file a complaint a constituent can mail or fax written correspondence to the address and fax number below:

Once the complaints are filed, the PSC will investigate the complaints individually. The meters that are involved are Westinghouse D-3 Kilowatt Hour Meters. These meters failed the statewide statistical sampling plan testing program for meter accuracy. The questioned meters run slow. Once the PSC gets all of the detailed information back from BGE, they will contact each constituent individually. At the end of the investigation, the PSC will send a recap of the complaints.
