Attached is a Resolution to extend the term of the Bowie Task Force to allow
for monitoring the progress of BGE in the area of electric reliability and
communication improvements. Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.

RESOLUTION
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOWIE, MARYLAND
EXTENDING THE TERM OF THE BALTIMORE GAS AND ELECTRIC/CITIZEN TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bowie (Council); desires improved electric service in the City of Bowie (City); and
WHEREAS, on May 7, 2007, as one way to achieve this objective, the Council created the Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE)/Citizen Task Force (Task Force); and
WHEREAS, the tenure of the Task Force was for one year, with an expiration date of May 7, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Baltimore Gas and Electric has proposed significant improvements in the reliability of electrical service in the Bowie area and in the communication process with the City and with customers of Bowie; and
WHEREAS, the Council wants to monitor the level of improvement in the areas of electric reliability and communication on a quarterly basis.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bowie, Maryland that the term of the BGE/Citizen Task Force is hereby extended for the purpose of monitoring the performance of electric reliability and communication on a quarterly basis; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Task Force shall provide information to the Council on a quarterly basis regarding this monitoring effort; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the current members of the Task Force shall continue to serve in this monitoring capacity if they should desire to do so.
