Status Report

1. Court of Appeals

Oral Argument in the M.I.E. case is scheduled for February 1st. The City Attorney has indicated that it is likely that a decision would be issued two to three months after the case is argued.

2. MSTC/Melford

The M-NCPPC staff report recommending approval of the Conceptual Site Plan (CSP) is included in your package. The case is being heard on January 11th by the Planning Board.

3. Variance Appeal BV-4-06 - 12214 Rolling Hill Lane

Attached please find a copy of the transcript of the December 12, 2006 Bowie Advisory Planning Board (BAPB) hearing on BV-4-06, a 4% lot coverage variance request submitted by Ms. Sylvia Covington. As we reported to you in the December 21, 2006 Status Report, Ms. Covington appealed the BAPB's denial of the variance application. The transcript is being provided now to give you time to review the BAPB decision prior to the Council hearing, which is scheduled for January 16, 2007.

4. Police Department Positions

Councilmember Turner had asked to see Job Descriptions for the Police Department. They are attached. Interviewing is occurring this week and next for various slots.
