Status Report
1. Memo on Legislation
Please make sure you review the enclosed memorandum concerning legislation
affecting MSTC/Melford.
2. District 1 Council Seat
The applications (8) are in alphabetical order in a separate envelope in
your package.
3. Proclamation
Attached is a proclamation drafted by Mayor Robinson for presentation to
former Senator Green at the dedication of the Route 50 pedestrian bridge
on Monday.
4. Springhill Lake Project in Greenbelt
At the last Council meeting, a Berwyn Heights resident addressed the Council
regarding concerns about a major development in Greenbelt. The plan involves
the redevelopment of the Springhill Lake apartment complex and the construction
in the future of a new elementary school to replace one that will be eliminated
in the project footprint. Greenbelt Mayor Davis has provided the attached
letters, which include the Greenbelt Council’s position on this matter.
5. Population/Housing Estimates and New Residential Construction
Attached please find copies of the recently completed handout materials prepared
by the Planning Department. Additional copies are available upon request.
6. Transportation Hearings
Staff will be attending the hearing in College Park next week. There is an
announcement in your package.
