Status Report

1. Holiday Crime Prevention Presentation

The Police Department will present tips for keeping safe during the holiday season – “Crime Prevention Strategies” for robbery, auto theft, burglaries (residential and commercial) and identity theft -- at City Hall on Saturday, December 1 at 1:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room.

2. MD 197 Plans

In your package this week are copies of the 4-lane, divided and 5-lane, undivided alternatives being developed by the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) in their project planning study for MD 197, between Kenhill Drive and MD 450. Some Councilmembers requested this information, which was shown at the November 14th informational workshop held by SHA at City Hall. SHA staff has confirmed their attendance at the City Council Worksession on January 14, 2008 to provide a briefing on the project. Both City and SHA public hearings will be scheduled in early 2008 after the Council briefing. Please contact the City's Planning Director if you have any questions about these plans.
