Street Lights

The City is responsible for the maintenance of most street lights in Bowie and has hired a contractor to perform the repairs.

To report a street light outage or malfunction, complete the online form, email jtayman@cityofbowie.org or contact the Public Works Department at 301-809-2332. If you call after hours please leave a detailed voicemail message and call back number.

Please be able to provide the following information:

• The address nearest the pole.
• The pole number (found about five feet up the pole).

The only exception to this information is that lights on wooden poles are maintained by BGE and must be reported directly to the company for repair. Call 1-800-685-0123 or visit their website www.bge.com and select "Report a Problem" at the top of the page.
