The City of Bowie administrative offices are located at Bowie City Hall. Residents may visit City offices to pick up new resident welcome packets, register to vote, obtain permits, pay their City water bills, obtain animal licenses or conduct any other City related business. Cable bills may also be paid at City Hall at the Comcast Cable office located at the rear of the building. The City of Bowie operates as a Council/Manager form of government. The Council is composed of seven members who are elected on a non-partisan basis. The City Manager is appointed by the City Council. Since the 2002 election, four councilmembers are now elected by district and two members and the mayor are elected at-large.Elections are held on the first Tuesday in November in odd numbered years. The next regular City Council election is November 6, 2007. The Council is the governing body of the City, elected by, and responsible to the voters for the operation of the City. The City Council also appoints the City Attorney, the Board of Supervisors of Elections, and members of all standing advisory committees and task forces. The City Council convenes for regular meetings on the first and third Mondays of the month. Council worksessions take place on the second and fourth Mondays of the month. Meetings and worksessions begin at 8 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at:Bowie City Hall, 2614 Kenhill Drive, Bowie, MD 20715 All Council meetings are broadcast live on Comcast Cable Cannel 71 and Verizon Cable Channel 10. They are rebroadcast on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend all regular meetings and worksessions. He supervises all staff and is responsible for the effective management of all financial and administrative actions of the City. He is responsible for implementing all policy matters established by the City Council and enforcing all City Ordinances.
