Private Property Maintenance Services

The City of Bowie hereby provides notice that it is soliciting expressions of interest from firms desiring to perform certain private property maintenance services in conjunction with the Code Compliance Division of the Dept. of Community Services. Work is generated from both City violations and from court ordered abatements. Work will include grass cutting, trimming of bushes, removal of illegal outside storage, pumping of private pools, exterior home repairs, vehicle towing, etc.

The purpose of this notice is to update an eligibility list of firms that can be called upon on an as needed basis to perform these types of tasks in a timely fashion. Three lists will be prepared 1) yard related cleanup work 2) minor exterior home repair 3) vehicle removal. The following requirements will apply:

-All firms submitting an expression of interest shall maintain commercial general liability levels of $1,000,000 with a $2,000,000 aggregate and auto liability of at least $100,000. Firms submitting proposals must either have this level of insurance or provide documentation that this is achievable within 30 days of submittal. The City of Bowie must be listed as an additional co-insured on the certificate.

-All firms should designate the list(s) they wish to be included on.
-All firms should include any licenses that they possess. Examples include home improvement and pesticide application.
-All firms will be required to provide an estimate within 24 hours of contact.
-All firms must be capable of performing the work within 48 hours of being notified that their estimate has been accepted.
-All firms will be required to use appropriate safety equipment and gear in connection with the type of duty required. An explanation of this subject, listing the type of safety equipment to be used for the type of work listed shall be included in any proposal.
-All employees shall be in a uniform or clothing that easily identifies their name and the firm by which they are employed. Vehicles used by firms will also be properly marked with the name of the firm and phone number.
-Payment for work performed will be invoiced to “the City of Bowie” and processed for payment within 30 days. Firms that offer any discounts for early payments should note that in their response.
-A firm not responding to a phone contact within 24 hours or when contacted that cannot perform the tasks within the time frames noted will be passed over to the next firm on the list.

Expressions of interest may be submitted at any time.

All contractors who meet the eligibility requirements will be added to the list once all appropriate documents have been received by the City.
