Hazardous Waste
Disposing of Hazardous Waste
Hazardous waste is not collected at curbside. Hazardous waste and electronics are accepted from Thursday through Saturday at the Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site in Upper Marlboro 8:00 am till 3:30 pm.

Located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill, hazardous waste disposal is open and free of charge to county residents who need to dispose of harmful household waste. Only non-commercial vehicles allowed.

  • Pool chemicals

Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site
County residents may drop off their used and unwanted electronics at this site, free of charge.

  • Fax machines
  • Ink and toner cartridges (from fax machines and printers)

Televisions & monitors
A maximum of five monitors and / or televisions (non-console) per vehicle may be dropped off on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Unacceptable Items
  • Small appliances (e.g. toasters & microwave ovens)
  • Compact discs (CDs, DVDs)
  • Console televisions
These items should be included with regular trash.
