Special Metal & Tire Pickup 

Collections are done on Wednesdays and must be scheduled. To schedule a pick-up, call the Public Works Department by Tuesday at noon for that week's pick up at 301-809-2344.

Metal Items
Items that are at least 98% metal require a special pick-up. Metal items include the following:

• Dryers, microwaves, stoves, ovens
• Grills (no propane tanks)
• Metal cabinets or shelves
• Refrigerators and freezers (make sure door is removed or securely tied closed)
• Washing machines, dishwashers
• Water heaters
• Metal furniture
• Furnaces, air conditioners
• Metal fence posts (chain link fabric & chicken wire are regular trash) 

Tires
Tires also require a special pickup. Residents may have up to four automobile tires collected each year. No commercial tires will be collected.

Vacuum Cleaners and all sizes of televisions are regular trash.
