Administration of the Primary Election and the General Election are the responsibility of the Prince George's Board of Elections. The information displayed here about those elections is provided as a courtesy to Bowie residents.

  • Voter Registration:
    Tuesday, April 5, 2016
  • Request Absentee Ballot Application (by mail or fax):
    Tuesday, April 19, 2016
  • Request Electronic/Internet Absentee Ballot Application:
    April 22, 2016

Early Voting
Early voting takes place place from April 14 to April 21, from 10 am. to 8 p.m. at the City of Bowie Gymnasium, located at 4100 Northview Drive, Bowie and at seven other locations throughout Prince George's County.

Election Day Voting Procedures Have Changed
There are new procedures in effect for in-person voting, which involve checking in at an E-Poll book and scanning your ballot. View a flyer about the new procedures on the Board of Elections website.





The information below pertains to City of Bowie elections: 

The next City election will be in November 2019.  The offices of Mayor and six Councilmembers will be up for election.

Voting in City Elections
Only those individuals who permanently reside within the corporate limits of the City of Bowie may vote in city elections. Voters registered with the Prince George's County Board of Elections at a City of Bowie address are automatically registered for city elections. 

Candidates for City Office
Residents who are registered voters can file for elected office in the Office of the City Clerk.
