Leaf Collection
Curbside Leaf Collection Program
The city's curbside leaf collection program begins in late October / early November each year. Each single-family residence in the city (and some townhome communities) will be visited twice by leaf collection crews according to the published leaf collection schedule.
Leaves must be raked to the curb by 7 a.m. on the day scheduled for pick up. Bagged leaves are collected year round on Wednesdays, as part of the city's yard waste collection program.
The curbside
leaf collection schedule is published each fall in the
Bowie Spotlight, on this website, and in local papers. Weather may disrupt the collection schedule.
Pick-Up
Please note that some sections may take more than one day to complete. If there are two consecutive days listed for your neighborhood, please make sure that the leaves are at the curb by 7 a.m. on the first day.
Schedule permitting, city crews may work ahead to collect leaves already at the side of the road in order to address poor impending weather conditions or heavy leaf volume. Whenever this occurs all streets will be revisited on the scheduled date to collect any leaves raked out in the interim.
