Emergency Preparedness
Be Prepared for Anything
Emergencies can happen at any time. They can affect a few homes, a few streets, or the entire city. Because it is impossible to know when disaster will strike or what type of emergency will occur, the City of Bowie takes an "all hazards" approach to emergency preparedness.

The City of Bowie plans, practices, and responds to a variety of emergencies each year. Some emergencies are more likely to occur in our part of the country than others, and emphasis is placed on those situations, but there are certain steps that the city takes and that residents and businesses can take to ensure basic preparedness for any emergency.

Start now and plan for what you would do in the event you had to go for three days without electricity, water service, and access to a supermarket.
