The month of January brings the photographs of photographer Louisa
Woolery to the City Hall Gallery. Images of flowers and nature scenes
are among the variety of photographs included in her display.
Ms. Woolery has over three decades of experience in the visual arts as a photographer and videographer. During this time she produced photographs of dignitaries, award winning videos for the U. S. Government, foreign governments, the airline industry and other public and private sector organizations. Her additional “fine art photography,” was largely for her own personal pleasure, until, encouraged by friends, family and artists she greatly respects, she recently decided to exhibit her work.
Her photography is an extension of her personality, according to Mr. Woolery, as it shows her love of the outdoors; gardening, hiking, and boating on the Chesapeake Bay. Her flowers “beg you to stop and cherish the intricate details and awesome beauty of a flower in bloom.”
Many of her photographs are shot in and around Bowie. She hopes that her photos “tell a story that draws you into the image and compels the viewer to “try to find your place in the scene,” and to “go out and discover the world” around you, “wherever that may be.”
The City of Bowie Arts Committee is pleased to provide
